Welcome back we hope you had a great summer break. Year 6 have made a really positive start to the year and I hope this will continue.
Year 6 will have their PE sessions on Wednesday and Friday afternoons. It is compulsory that each child has the appropriate P.E kit (a plain white T-shirt, suitable trousers for exercise and trainers- with suitable grip). Please ensure that your child has a water bottle on these days. Children will only be exempt from P.E if they have a signed letter from their parent/carer.
Homework and spellings are set on Fridays and must be returned by the following Wednesday. Spellings are to be returned on Thursdays. It is extremely important that it is handed in on time to support the learning in class. It is also expected that each child will use the online Mathletics and Bugs Club programme regularly.
Children are asked to read daily for 15-30 minutes. They can read a book from home, the local library or a borrowed book from the class library. Each child has a Destination Reader journal which they should complete the set tasks for. This will be checked daily. They are responsible for these books and must look after them. We cannot continuously replace books. If children fail to read, they will lose 15 minutes of their own time.
