Year 6 Summer Term Curriculum Letter
Welcome back to school as Year 6 begin their final term at Stamford Hill!
We have a very important few weeks ahead as we make final preparations for the SATs tests in the week beginning 14th May. The children worked really hard last term and will need that final push to achieve their very best! After post SATs celebrations we will continue to work hard, so that the children are as well prepared for secondary school as possible.
Year 6 will continue to have their PE session on Monday and Friday. It is compulsory that each child has the appropriate P.E kit (a plain white T-shirt, suitable trousers for exercise and trainers- with suitable grip). Please ensure that your child has a water bottle on these days. Children will only be exempt from P.E if they have a signed letter from their parent/carer.
Spellings are set on Fridays and must be returned by the following Thursday. It is also expected that each child will use the online Mathletics and Bug Club programme as both replace homework. Please encourage your child to use both programmes as it helps the children academically.
Children are asked to read daily for 20-30 minutes. They can read a book from home, the local library or a borrowed book from the class book corner. They are responsible for these books and must look after them.
Each day there is a FREE breakfast club where the children can select from a range of breakfast choices. There are art activities and games which the children can engage in. The breakfast club timings are 7:30-8:30.
