Welcome to the summer term at Stamford Hill! Let’s hope we will have glorious summer weather. Year 4 has had an excellent first two terms, and we are looking forward to the final term together. There will be a lot of hard work and effort and perseverance is expected as always.
This term homework will be set on a Wednesday to be handed in on or before the following Tuesday, it is important that it is handed in on time to support the learning in class. Homework in Year 4 comprises of maths to consolidate learning from the week, comprehension, spellings and grammar. Homework should take no longer than one hour. Additionally, 30 minutes reading must be done daily. Children can read their own book, a book from the class book corner, or a book from Bug’s Club. Their reading record must be returned each day to be checked. Finally, our homework policy states that Bug’s Club and Mathletics are compulsory. All children have logins for both sites. They have 40 books set to their reading level and tasks set on Mathletics (10 per week), these MUST be completed.
P.E takes place Tuesday. Also, children have a short (40min) PE session every Thursday. It is essential children bring the appropriate P.E kit to participate. Education trips will be organised throughout the term to enhance your child’s learning. Please see dates of confirmed trips below. As with last term if you want your child to par-take in educational trips the letter does not need to be returned, if you do not wish your child to take part then the letter must be signed and returned.
With the weather hopefully getting warmer it will be very important that your child keeps hydrated throughout the day. Please ensure your child brings a water bottle each day.
