Dear Parents/ Carers,
Welcome all to Year 3. I hope everyone has had an enjoyable and restful summer. As ever we have a busy working year ahead of us, full of hard work and fun activities.
Homework will be set on a Wednesday, it is important that it is handed in on time to support the learning in class. Homework should be completed and handed in collectively the following Monday. Homework in Year 3 comprises of maths to consolidate learning from the week, comprehension, spellings and grammar. Weekly spelling test will be on Friday. (10 spellings)
At least 30 minutes reading must be done daily at home. Children can read their own book, a book from the class book corner, or a book from Bug’s Club. Childrens reading record must be returned each day to be checked. Additionally, our homework policy states that Bug’s Club and Mathletics are compulsory. All children have logins for both sites. They have 40 books set to their reading level and tasks set on Mathletics (10 per week), these MUST be completed.
P.E takes place on Monday and Wednesday. It is essential children bring the appropriate P.E kit to participate. Education trips will be organised throughout the term to enhance your child’s learning. Please see dates of confirmed trips below. If you do not wish your child to take part in a trip then the letter must be signed and returned.
September 12th: Bike ability Training
September 22nd: Museum of London (free trip- children can bring up to £5 spending money)
October 13th: Spitalfields City Farm (£5)
December 1st: Trip to the unicorn theatre (£10)
There are many after school Clubs for children to choose from. School finishes promptly at 3.15p.m and clubs finish at 4p.m.
Each day there is a FREE breakfast club where the children can select from a range of breakfast choices.
